Intro: Camera: Shows Diner from far away- Switches closer so you can see the sign above it-
switches to inside and showing a young man sitting at a two person table alone, its dark out the
window- switches to a close up of his face he is smoking a cigarette-
-The boy sighs and looks at his reflection in the window. He does a double take at another
reflection in the window, Jessie- He turns around to her surprised
Boy: Uh..you..need something?
-Jessie looks shy and is showing being nervous, no eye contact, quiet voice, messing with her
fingers-
“Jessie: No, Just came to say hello...hello.. -being awkward-
Boy: Oh… -looks around awkwardly- Would you like to sit?
-Jessie sits down-
Jessie: Well...you’ve been here long enough -being friendly (do you get that sentence?)
Boy: Yeah, I guess so
-An awkward silence-
Jessie: Well, spill it.
Boy: Excuse me?
Jessie: Oh, come on. Somethings always up when I take night shifts and I guess your the main
event tonight, I mean you’ve been sitting at this table for five hours straight and haven’t ordered
anything. -pause- You look just about old enough to go to a bar, but I suppose not being that
you’re here instead of there.
-Cigarette-
Boy: I’m sorry. i dont quite understand…
Jessie: What im saying is this is your alternative for a bar. And, well nobody brings anything
small into a bar
-Cigarette-
-rubs the end of the cigarette on the table, jessie looks at him annoyed-
Jessie: Im going to have to clean this up later, you know
Boy: Oh! right...sorry...ill clean it up.
-Jessie laughs and moves her hair out of her face-
Jessie: And when will you be leaving exactly?
-The boy shrugs and leans in towards the girl interested-
Boy: Tell me about yourself -smokes cigarette-
Jessie: (surprised)
Boy: I know its a bit random and vague, but tell me about yourself...anything
Jessie: Well my names Jessie, Im 20 and I work at this restrant., what about you?
-the boy shakes his head-
Boy: You know, Jessie. Id really love to tell you my life story. I really would. I’d like to tell
anyone, actually, anyone who’d care to listen. And you’ve been the first in a while. But they’ll
always be more, and I just tell myself. -looks out window at traffic- I have to tell myself that, that
those people, they don't care those people, none of them really care, they’re just curious, and
they can't help. and they won't help. there just curious.
-Jessie opens her mouth to speak, but nothing comes out-
Boy: How bad do you want to know? -emotionless-
Jessie: Based on your theories, I guess my knowing isnt of importance at all - nevous voice
from when first introduced- -After a few seconds of the boy looking sad- Alright, Tell me
Boy: Okay, -gulps- Well I guess its only one thing really. One thing that caused everything else.
It takes one brick missing for the tower to crumble, you know. -He looks Jessie in the eyes for
the first time smiling- Well and uh...its something I can’t really fix, you know? Something I wish i
could, but I cant Because We can’t fix every mistake. Huge mistakes. - The boy looked at
Jessie again and she smiled and nodded- And well sometimes its your little sister. and maybe
your father whos the only one there doesnt go after them. -The boy takes a deep breath- And
sometimes, trucks dont stop, because they cant see little seven year old little girls in the middle
of the street. - The boy began to get teary eyed and angry- And then, your father blames you.
Blames it all on you! and you get kicked out of the house and you never see him again. You
haven’t seen him because that little girl was your favorite thing in the world. She was..my...my
-he began to sob- she was my favorite thing in the world -he slams his fist onto the table-
-Jessie looks at him blankly as he looked out the window- he takes a deep breath and stomps
his cigarette into the ground and wipes the tears away-
Jessie: Im sorry yo-
Boy: -cuts Jessie off- Dont be Sympatheic I appreciate it but…
Jessie: No, listen. Im sorry I really am.
-The boy looks at something out the window-
Jessie: Nobody deserves that. I have a feeling theres more to your story, a lot more. but your so
young i mean. Im sorry, really sorry...I-
-The boy cuts her off again-
Boy: Jessie…-stands up still looking out the windows- What are those kids doing? - he points
out the window
Jessie: They are no kids…
Boy: Yes there are! Look! right there! - frantically points at window- Oh my god where are they
coming from?
Jessie: what kids…
Boy: What kids? What kids! All of them oh my god - stands up and runs to the door- As soon as
he reaches the door Jessie stands in his way- What are you doing? are you insane? Move! -he
pushed her out of the way and ran out. She grabbed his wrist as he ran- Let go, I said let
go!-struggling-
Jessie: What are you doing?
Boy: Do you not see the kids? They’re all going!
Jessie: Going where? - she struggled- Going where?
Boy: Into the road Jessie! There running right into the road!
Jessie: Are you Insane? -The boy jumped into the street and got hit by a car, his body lay limp
on the ground- Everything was silent for Jessie as The driver got out of the car and ran to
Jessie-
Driver: Call...Call 911!!!
Cops: What happen?
Jessie: -Almost crying- Hes insane…
Cops: Who is he?
Jessie: -looking up at the cop- HES INSANE! His story...the car...his sister... His name...he...he
Cops: did you know him?
Jessie: -calming down a little- No...no. I dont. -she looked the cop in the eye- hes insane
-Jessie covered her face with her hands when she opened the scene was gone just a car pulled
over and the driver by her side. The driver looked at her.
